Frequently asked questions
Does compressing lose quality?
JPG and WebP use high-quality lossy compression — visually lossless at the default setting, with a slider if you want to trade quality for a smaller file. PNG output is always lossless.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API — the file never leaves your device.
What's the best format to choose?
